Commercial Insurance Account Manager

About This Role

Manage an assigned book of commercial insurance business, focusing on retention and supporting new business. Coordinate administrative and customer service activities to resolve complex issues and ensure accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain technical competence and industry expertise in commercial insurance
• Direct daily activities of the account management team
• Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, and claims
• Manage policy expirations and renewals, including client research and proposal presentation
• Monitor accounts receivable reports and collect outstanding balances
• Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms
• Monitor and maintain activity/suspense for timely completion
• Maintain frequent, transparent communication with the account team regarding workload status
• Deliver excellent service, anticipate client needs, and respond quickly to requests
• Stay updated on company policies and procedures
• Seek and adopt best practices to improve individual and team performance

Requirements

• 3+ years of account management experience or 5+ years in the insurance industry
• Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs
• Active Property & Casualty licensing
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Exceptional customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent)
• 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry

• Professional designation (CIC or equivalent)
