Commercial Insurance Account Manager

About This Role

Manage an assigned book of commercial insurance business, focusing on retention and supporting new business growth. Coordinate customer service activities, resolve complex issues, and ensure accurate policy administration.

Responsibilities

• Maintain technical competence and industry expertise in commercial insurance
• Direct daily activities of the account management team
• Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis
• Manage policy expirations and renewals, including client research and proposal presentations
• Monitor accounts receivable and collect outstanding balances
• Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms, ensuring data accuracy
• Monitor and maintain activity/suspense to ensure timely completion of tasks
• Maintain frequent, transparent communication with the account team regarding workload status and issues
• Deliver excellent service, proactively anticipate needs, and respond quickly to service requests
• Stay updated on company policies and procedures, and seek best practices for continuous improvement

Requirements

• 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry
• Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs
• Active Property & Casualty licensing
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Exceptional customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• High School Diploma (or equivalent)
