Lead commercial construction projects from ground-up to remodel, ensuring adherence to schedules, safety, and quality standards. This role involves active site management, coordination with various stakeholders, and upholding ethical business practices for a general contractor specializing in projects ranging from $1.5M to $10M.
Responsibilities
- Maintain weekly project schedules and updates, utilizing tools like MS Projects
- Enforce safety protocols, including conducting weekly onsite toolbox meetings
- Utilize Procore for daily reporting, communication monitoring, and daily picture documentation
- Coordinate all necessary inspections throughout project phases
- Generate and complete project punch lists effectively
- Verify subcontractor change orders and validate labor/material projections
- Communicate clearly and assertively with Owners, Architects, and other consultants
- Proactively solve problems and embrace challenges to develop solutions
- Maintain ethical business practices in all daily actions
- Liaise with city building and development departments
- Interpret blueprints, coordinating architectural, structural, and MEP designs
- Contact and schedule subcontractors and suppliers to meet project specifications
- Manage overall horizontal and vertical construction, including site work, utilities, and MEP applications
- Organize and conduct weekly onsite subcontractor meetings addressing safety, schedule, and quality control
- Respond to office staff communications in a timely manner
Requirements
- Experience as a Commercial Construction Lead Superintendent
- Vertical ground-up construction experience
- Remodel construction experience
- Proficiency in project scheduling (MS Projects experience a plus)
- OSHA Trained/Certified (30 Hour preferred)
- Safety enforcement skills
- Experience utilizing Procore for project management and reporting
- Ability to coordinate inspections
- Experience generating and completing punch lists
- Skills in subcontractor change order verification and projection validation
- Clear and assertive communication skills
- Problem-solving and proactive mentality
- Experience with city building and development departments
- Ability to interpret blueprints and coordinate designs (architectural, structural, MEP)
- Ability to contact and schedule subcontractors/suppliers
- Overall knowledge of horizontal and vertical construction (cut and fill sites, utilities, MEP)
- Dependable form of transportation
- Willingness to work after hours when critical
- Ability to organize and conduct weekly onsite subcontractor meetings
- Availability, punctuality, and accountability for meetings and requests
Qualifications
- Must have experience as a Commercial Construction Lead Superintendent with both vertical ground-up and remodel experience working for a commercial general contractor. Residential or multi-family-only construction experience will not be considered.
