Commercial Account Manager

About This Role

This role is responsible for processing applications, policies, and other items related to client servicing, assisting with policy coverages, and maintaining client relationships within the insurance industry. The Account Manager will also work with Producers on renewals and new business.

Responsibilities

• Process applications, policies, endorsements, binders, certificates, audit requests, agency billing, and other items related to the servicing of clients
• Assist clients with policy coverages and related questions, reviewing for potential gaps
• Work with Producers to support client service needs and renewal processes
• Provide clients with additional coverage options
• Maintain client files in appropriate systems and provide standard office/administrative support
• Maintain carrier relationships and stay informed on changes and industry trends
• Establish and maintain high levels of trust and confidence with clients
• Inform and educate clients about policy coverage, changes, exclusions, and insurance coverage needs
• Submit applications with proper supporting documentation and follow up for timely quotes and policies
• Negotiate premiums and commissions with underwriters and wholesalers

Requirements

• Full knowledge of Property Casualty lines of coverage and services
• Experience with Agency Management Systems, rating procedures, coverages, and industry operations
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office computer software applications (Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Strong attention to detail and time management abilities
• Ability to multi-task and assign priority
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required, College degree preferred
• Two or more years experience in mid-size brokerage or carrier
