The Collections Analyst will analyze accounts receivable, collaborate with attorneys and clients to manage billing and collections processes, and facilitate payment of delinquent accounts for a global law firm.
Responsibilities
- Analyze target accounts receivable items for follow-up with attorneys and clients
- Work with attorneys and office staff to develop trusting and collaborative relationships regarding the billing and collections process
- Proactively communicate and update attorneys, clients and the management team on accounts receivable status and provide input for possible actions on a particular receivable
- Facilitate payment of delinquent accounts by developing and maintaining an ongoing working relationship with client personnel in their administrative, legal, and accounting departments
- Establish alternative payment plans for delinquent accounts and follow up with client(s) to ensure payments are made as agreed
- Ensure bills conform to clients' billing protocol and communicate clients' requests and concerns to attorneys
- Provide necessary backup requested by the client and assist with reconciling client accounts
- Update and maintain client accounts receivable file in Expert Collections module
- Monitor daily cash receipts for regular payments, negotiated payments, and unapplied funds
- Assist with special projects and duties as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of accounting principles
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- 5+ years of related collection experience
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficiency with Excel/MS Word and Windows environment
- Ability to operate within billing and accounts receivable systems
- Initiative and service-oriented approach to clients and attorneys
- Excellent time management, project management, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of related collection experience
