This role involves assisting the Head Coach in developing middle school girls basketball players. The Assistant Coach will foster skill development, discipline, sportsmanship, and academic excellence within the school district's sports program.
Responsibilities
- Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved
- Plan and schedule a regular program of practice in season
- Work closely with the head coach to enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times
- Establish and oversee penalties for breach of standards by individual students
- Demonstrate effective human relations and communication skills
- Assist the head coach with the organization and supervision of the sports program
- Comply with good safety practices
- Comply with all district rules, regulations and policies
Requirements
- Valid Missouri teacher certificate
- Employment as a teacher in the Jefferson City School District
Nice to Have
- Previous coaching experience in assigned sport
