CNC Programmer

About This Role

Launch a newly developed offline programming department, creating standardized tooling libraries, routers, CNC programs, setup sheets, and work instructions to improve overall CNC throughput, quality, and process standardization.

Responsibilities

• Utilize appropriate integration software (Esprit, etc.) to transfer engineered models (SolidWorks, etc.) into the appropriate machine language for manufacturability
• Perform process on an offline workstation so CNC programs can be simulated prior to download to improve quality, machinability, and equipment throughput
• Create centralized location on the company network to store proven programs for download to the various CNC machines
• Work collectively with the department tech leads to prove out programs and continually look for opportunities to reduce cycle times on the shop floor
• Evaluate and analyze new, and revised, engineering drawings/models for accuracy, manufacturability, and feasibility
• Initiate, evaluate, and implement process improvements primarily focused on cost reductions, quality improvements, and safety
• Interface with other departments while creating/revising machining processes to resolve issues and/or improve manufacturability

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years CNC Programming experience, specifically lathes
• Experience programming twin spindle, multi turret lathes

Qualifications

• Technical Degree, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years CNC Programming experience, specifically lathes.

Nice to Have

• Experience programming Index, Citizen, and Okuma lathes
