About This Role

The Clinical Pharmacy Assistant will primarily support the Clinical Pharmacist and act as a liaison to the Director of Pharmacy, documenting medication histories, assisting with clinical consults, and performing patient intake.

Responsibilities

  • Document medication histories and communicate findings with clinical staff
  • Assist clinical pharmacist practitioner in clinical consults and value-based care metrics
  • Assist with intake of patients by reviewing medical history and obtaining vital signs
  • Field prior authorizations and low-income subsidy requests
  • Assist in Medication Delivery to Asheville clinics on occasion
  • Schedule patients for appointments with clinical pharmacist
  • Assist Retail pharmacy in daily operations when needed
  • Administer vaccines and/or therapeutic injections as needed
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies kept in office for clinical pharmacy team

Requirements

  • Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience)
  • Licensure: registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy
  • CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA
  • General knowledge of pharmacy
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with pharmaceutical technology and equipment, including computers, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and phone systems
  • Proficient with MS Excel/Word/Outlook, Electronic Health Record systems and automated medical scheduling
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in group and community settings
  • Ability to plan, schedule and coordinate

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program
  • 1-year clinical pharmacy technician experience preferred
