Serve as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) within Upland Hills Health Family Practice Clinics, working a full-time day shift to prepare patients, assist with exams, perform nursing procedures, and manage medical records.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for healthcare visits and perform nursing procedures under supervision of the health care provider
- Assist with exams and reviews and/or records medical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit or treatment
- Prepare laboratory specimens; perform phlebotomy and basic laboratory tests
- Sterilize medical instruments; administer medications, authorizing drug refills as directed
- E-prescribe prescriptions to pharmacies as directed
- Prepare patients for x-rays
- Take electrocardiograms; remove sutures; change dressings
- Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate supplies
- Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to health care providers
- May participate in organizational and departmental CQI activities
Requirements
- Completed a Medical Assistant Training program OR be Licensed as a Practical Nurse in the State of Wisconsin
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant Training program or Licensed as a Practical Nurse
Nice to Have
- Prior experience using the EPIC medical record system
- Previous experience with Microsoft Office Suite software programs
