The Client Support Worker provides essential care and support to individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities, ensuring their daily needs are met and assisting with community integration. This role is crucial for enhancing the quality of life for those receiving services.
Responsibilities
- Transport individuals on outings, to doctor appointments and other community activities
- Assist with bathing, toileting needs, and dressing individuals
- Assist with changing soiled briefs
- Document daily activities in Carelogic and complete notes by shift end
- Use adaptive equipment with individuals
- Complete all required trainings in Relias, CPR/1st Aid, CPI, and Defensive Driving
- Attend all staff meetings
- Prepare meals according to the menu
- Monitor spending money with other team members daily
- Perform housekeeping tasks, including laundry, dishes, making beds, sweeping, mopping, and dusting
- Facilitate community outings such as haircuts, bowling, movies, and shopping
- Track individual goals per ISP (Individual Support Plan)
- Assist with catheter care as needed
- Communicate with visitors to the home
- Complete Non-Serious Incident Reports and report medical issues to supervisor
Requirements
- Ability to transport individuals
- Ability to assist with personal care (bathing, toileting, dressing)
- Ability to document daily activities
- Ability to use adaptive equipment
- Ability to complete CPR/1st Aid, CPI, and Defensive Driving trainings
