Clerical Associate

About This Role

This role involves handling all incoming communications, coordinating appointments, and managing patient accounts at Pediatric Associates of Florence SC. The associate will assist patients with MyChart, process payments, and perform various administrative duties to support the care team.

Responsibilities

• Handle all incoming communications and ensure reliable phone coverage
• Assist patients in signing up for MyChart and encourage its use for communication
• Coordinate and schedule all patient appointments, in-office or at hospital surgery center
• Coordinate and manage expectations for same-day appointments, confirming and following up on communications
• Address and follow up on all messages, mail, faxes, and incoming communications
• Prepare for upcoming visits by completing pre-registration functions
• Identify and collect copays and previous balances at time of service
• Act as a liaison between patients and SBO for billing questions and refer to financial counselors when needed
• Maintain a paperless, neat, and clutter-free work environment
• Regularly update patient registries in EPIC
• Support team members by handling key administrative duties
• Actively participate in care team and cross-functional quality improvement processes
• Maintain confidentiality when talking with patients

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of computer input
• Ability to perform basic clerical functions
• Comprehend medical terminology
• Good spelling skills
• Basic math skills
