About This Role

This role involves safely transporting individuals to and from day service programs as a Driver, and, as an Aide, developing, implementing, and supervising training programs to meet individual needs, case managing designated individuals, and participating in general program duties.

Responsibilities

  • Work with and train individuals on specific day service plan objectives
  • Collect data on goals for each individual
  • Perform daily documentation of medical data or target behaviors
  • Participate in all general programmatic duties (arrivals, breaks, lunches, departures)
  • Assist with the upkeep and maintenance of the program, follow cleaning schedules, and report maintenance issues
  • Protect each individual's rights and maintain confidentiality of information
  • Complete any administrative duties as assigned
  • Participate in all required meetings
  • Maintain all appropriate certifications including FA/CPR and PABC
  • Assist individuals in entering and exiting the vehicle and ensure proper seatbelt usage
  • Operate the vehicle at all times within federal, state, and local laws
  • Maintain good knowledge of routes and locations of houses, day facilities, and emergency locations
  • Complete a quick vehicle safety checklist and report issues to supervisor immediately
  • Immediately notify the supervisor of any variance in route time exceeding 15 minutes

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED
  • 20.5 years of age or older
  • At least 3 years of driving experience
  • Valid MA driver's license and a good driving record history with no more than 2 moving violations in the last three years

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3 years of driving experience

  • Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • Ability to interact with patience and sensitivity
