Claims Intern

About This Role

As a Claims Intern, you will perform various claims and appraisal tasks, primarily reviewing, evaluating, and analyzing documentation related to material damage claims and total loss vehicles. You will assist with auto storm losses, manage claim assignments, and have the opportunity to work with Underwriting processes for expanded experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform various claims and appraisal tasks
• Review, evaluate, and analyze documentation for material damage claims and total loss vehicles
• Assist with auto storm losses and manage claim assignments for material damage
• Assist with managing and tracking losses during storm season
• Manage rental vehicles and assist in processing title work
• Work with Underwriting processes to expand experience if time allows

Requirements

• Current college student
• Quick learner looking to learn new concepts and ideas
• Able to learn basic understanding of property insurance policies
• Strong computer skills
• Effective communicator
• Excellent customer service skills
• Team focused
• Detail oriented and willing to ask questions
• Comfortable talking on the telephone (75% of time)
• Available to work full time (8am-4:30pm Monday through Friday) during Summer 2026
• Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis

Qualifications

• Current college student, Agricultural, business, collision repair or insurance major preferred
• Entry-level claims/insurance experience

Nice to Have

• Junior or Senior Status preferred
• Familiarity with Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel
