CFO/Managing Director

About This Role

This CFO/Managing Director role is a critical leadership position focused on driving business results for mid-size companies through finance and accounting advisory services. The role involves leading client engagements, providing strategic recommendations, and managing finance and accounting functions for clients.

Responsibilities

• Establish and develop relationships with clients’ executive leadership, external partners, and stakeholders
• Provide assessments of client's current Finance and Accounting functions and offer strategic recommendations
• Manage processes and procedures for finance and accounting day-to-day responsibilities
• Manage projects to keep them on track and identify opportunities for additional value creation
• Secure new and repeat business through active participation in business development activities
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends and recent accounting/finance guidance
• Provide leadership, direction, and management to clients’ finance and accounting teams and Growth Pros
• Manage month-end close, financial forecasting, budgets, and oversee financial reporting
• Advise on long-term business and financial planning

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 20+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience
• 10+ years in a leadership / management role
• High level of proficiency in MS Excel
• Experience with various accounting and ERP systems
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to work in the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN area for onsite client work as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 20+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including 10+ years in a leadership/management role

Nice to Have

• CPA (active or inactive)
• MBA
• Prior experience engaging in business development activities
• Background in mergers, acquisitions and integrations
• Prior engagements in consulting or contract work
• Experience working with private equity-backed companies
