About This Role

This role is responsible for instructing and guiding students in Grades K-3 towards achieving curriculum goals and essential skills. It involves creating a conducive learning environment, assessing student progress, and maintaining accurate records to support district educational philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Meet and instruct assigned classes in designated locations and times
• Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs of students
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student maturity and interests
• Prepare for assigned classes and show written evidence of preparation upon request
• Guide the learning process toward curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with physical limitations and student needs
• Implement the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives
• Assess student accomplishments regularly and provide progress reports as required
• Identify student learning problems and seek assistance from specialists as required
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law and district policy
• Assess progress and preparation of students for state testing

Requirements

• Current Arizona Elementary and/or Secondary Certification
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of State and National Standards
