Certified Teacher - After School Program

About This Role

This role involves facilitating and conducting a comprehensive youth development program within an after-school setting, focusing on academic activities. The Certified Teacher will engage children in exciting academic interventions and projects to enhance core educational proficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the success and operation of the 21st Century Community Learning Center educational program
• Prepare and deliver high-yield activities and interventions that facilitate active learning
• Collaborate with school-day staff on members' progress and stakeholder surveys
• Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
• Manage student behavior by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
• Maintain discipline in accordance with Boys & Girls Clubs policies
• Provide appropriate feedback to students on their work, accomplishments, and progress
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and adjust teaching strategies
• Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, Project Directors, Club Directors, and parents
• Establish clear objectives for all learning activities and provide varied learning materials

Requirements

• BA/BS Degree in a field related to education
• Valid Florida Educator Teaching Certificate
• Experience with Project Based Learning
• Experience with technology and analyzing student data
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Computer skills (Microsoft Word required)
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Ability to meet deadlines

Qualifications

• BA/BS Degree from an accredited, four-year university or college in a field related to education
