This role involves assisting physicians and nurses in orthopaedic cases, ensuring a safe and sterile operating room environment, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to provide seamless patient care.
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and nurses in outpatient orthopaedic surgery procedures
- Maintain a safe and sterile environment in the operating room
- Prepare the OR for the arrival of surgical patients
- Assemble equipment, supplies, and instruments for surgical procedures
- Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the operating room
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with team members, supervisors, and physicians
- Handle high-stress environments and be adaptable to change
Requirements
- Current certification to practice in the state of Iowa
- Ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to handle high stress environments and be adaptable to change
- Ability to work Monday through Friday schedule
- Ability to be on feet for extended periods of time
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in orthopaedics or an ASC is preferred, but not required.
