About This Role

This role involves providing quality hospice care to patients in various settings, assisting with daily living activities, and reporting changes to the nursing staff. The goal is to ensure kindness, respect, compassion, and dignity for residents, families, and loved ones.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with prescribed exercise and ROM (Range of Motion) activities taught by the Hospice Nurse.
  • Provide assistance in toileting, positioning, and transfer activities, including frequent turning and positioning of bed-bound patients.
  • Provide or assist in ADL (Activities of Daily Living) activities such as personal hygiene, grooming, mouth, skin, and nail care.
  • Assist or remind the patient to take medication in compliance with regulations.
  • Assist with light housekeeping of the individual's personal unit or room, including changing bed linen and patient laundry.
  • Feed and assist with meals.
  • Obtain temperature, pulse, and respiration as supervised by the Hospice Nurse.
  • Report any changes in the resident's/patient's condition to the Hospice Nurse and facility nurse, documenting the information.

Requirements

  • HHA License in the state of NJ
  • Understands the hospice philosophy
  • Minimum of one year experience working in hospice
  • Dependable transportation

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year experience working in hospice
