About This Role

This role will provide administrative support for the Lake Center program at Mendocino-Lake Community College District, assisting faculty, staff, students, and the public with various tasks including student registration and information dissemination. The position is temporary and supports the overall center operations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and perform a variety of responsible and technical clerical work
  • Provide general and specific written and verbal information to faculty, staff, students, and the public on college and departmental policies, procedures, and records
  • Receive, screen, and route visitors; take and forward messages; schedule student appointments for various support services
  • Provide academic counseling support including checking on transcripts and assessment scores
  • Assist students in the registration process, including processing applications and conducting online registration
  • Administer placement assessments, review scores with students, and input scores into database
  • Distribute photo ID's and student body cards; print unofficial transcripts and grade reports; proctor exams
  • Process Board of Governors Fee Waiver Applications and screen financial aid applications
  • Collect fees, balance cash receipts, prepare deposits, and secure monies
  • Assist with facilities management, including scheduling room usage and making maintenance requests
  • Support faculty with college resources, producing classroom materials, and communicating with students
  • Assist with budget tracking, recordkeeping, reporting, mail distribution, and office supply orders
  • Produce, process, and track Purchase Orders (POs) and Personnel Action Forms (PAFs)
  • Provide enrollment/registration support for dual enrollment activities, working with center administrator and high school personnel
  • Work as liaison between students and the bookstore to assist in ordering and receiving books
  • Use a variety of software and information systems including Microsoft Office, Colleague, SARS, and WebAdvisor
  • Train and provide work direction to others as assigned; assist hourly employees with employment paperwork

Requirements

  • Ability to plan, schedule, and perform a variety of responsible and technical clerical work
  • Ability to work independently with little direction; work alone during evening and weekend hours
  • Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and data base software and data entry techniques
  • Ability to operate a variety of computer software, databases and office equipment
  • Live Scan background check and completion of TB test
