CDL Test Driver

About This Role

Perform road tests on medium and heavy-duty trucks to verify repairs and ensure quality standards are met. Monitor vehicle performance and clearly document and communicate test results to the service team.

Responsibilities

• Perform road tests on medium- and heavy-duty trucks following completion of repairs and service
• Verify that all reported issues have been resolved and repairs meet quality standards
• Monitor vehicle performance, including braking, steering, acceleration, shifting, engine response, and other systems
• Document and communicate test results clearly and accurately to the Service Manager and/or Technicians
• Follow all DOT, company, and safety regulations while operating trucks
• Support the service team in maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction

Requirements

• Valid CDL B or A driver’s license with a clean driving record
• At least 2 years of commercial driving or equivalent mechanical/service experience
• Prior experience operating and/or testing medium- and heavy-duty trucks
• Basic mechanical knowledge of truck systems (brakes, engines, transmissions, etc.)
• Ability to communicate effectively with service staff and management
• Commitment to safety, professionalism, and high-quality work

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of commercial driving or equivalent mechanical/service experience

Nice to Have

• Diesel dealership experience
