CDL Driver - Transit

About This Role

Operate a city bus safely and efficiently, providing reliable public transportation and excellent customer service to the citizens of Fayetteville. Ensure schedule adherence and passenger well-being while driving.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate the bus and ensure the well-being of passengers.
• Respond to customer inquiries concerning transit information, provide a comfortable ride, and collect proper fares.
• Provide reliable and consistent bus route service according to publicly advertised schedules.

Requirements

• 6 months of experience operating buses or similar equipment OR completion of the NC Division of Motor Vehicles entry-level driver training (ELDT) program within the last six months
• Acceptable driving record
• Current DOT Medical Card
• North Carolina Class B Commercial Driver’s License with an endorsement for air brakes and a passenger endorsement at the time of employment and ability to maintain insurability

Qualifications

• Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
• Six months of experience operating buses or similar equipment OR completion of the NC Division of Motor Vehicles entry-level driver training (ELDT) program within the last six months.

Nice to Have

• First Aid certification
• CPR certification
