Move trucks from the yard to the building and maneuver them for loading/unloading, with potential for local deliveries. This role requires a dedicated CDL-A qualified Yard Jockey for a full-time position in North Haven, CT.
Responsibilities
- Move trailers around the terminal to various locations
- Maneuver the truck into loading and/or unloading positions
- Visually inspect trailers and/or trucks before and after moving each
- Connect tractors to trailers
- Assist with the unloading and loading of freight as needed
- Maintain documentation of each trailer moved throughout the assigned shift
Requirements
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
- Minimum 1 year of recent CDL-A experience
- Currently hold, or obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older
- No more than three moving violations and or accidents within the last three years (subject to review)
- Ability to communicate effectively; must be able to read, write and speak English
- Must be able to obtain and maintain TSA security clearance
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of recent CDL-A experience, van type trailer preferred
Nice to Have
- Previous Jockey or Switcher experience
- Van type trailer experience
