CDL-A Dedicated Yard Jockey

About This Role

Move trucks from the yard to the building and maneuver them for loading/unloading, with potential for local deliveries. This role requires a dedicated CDL-A qualified Yard Jockey for a full-time position in North Haven, CT.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers around the terminal to various locations
• Maneuver the truck into loading and/or unloading positions
• Visually inspect trailers and/or trucks before and after moving each
• Connect tractors to trailers
• Assist with the unloading and loading of freight as needed
• Maintain documentation of each trailer moved throughout the assigned shift

Requirements

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
• Minimum 1 year of recent CDL-A experience
• Currently hold, or obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older
• No more than three moving violations and or accidents within the last three years (subject to review)
• Ability to communicate effectively; must be able to read, write and speak English
• Must be able to obtain and maintain TSA security clearance

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent CDL-A experience, van type trailer preferred

Nice to Have

• Previous Jockey or Switcher experience
• Van type trailer experience
