Cashier

About This Role

Process customer orders quickly and accurately, handling payments and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. Assist customers with inquiries and maintain a clean checkout area.

Responsibilities

• Process each customer’s order quickly, accurately, and efficiently
• Ensure complete customer satisfaction through prompt and friendly service
• Accurately handle customer cash, credit/debit payments, and change
• Assist customers by providing information and resolving their complaints
• Follow all front end procedures
• Assist with stocking shelves, facing and dusting as needed
• Maintain knowledge of weekly ad items
• Give customers direction of product location throughout the store
• Maintain excellent communication with front end manager and Head Cashier
• Ensure that checkout areas are properly maintained in a clean and orderly condition

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience
• Outgoing and friendly behavior
• Positive attitude
• Ability to interact with customers
• Ability to operate front end equipment; register, calculator, scanner
• Dependable and reliable with ability to work a flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays)
• Good communication skills
• Ability to take direction/constructive criticism and participate in a team environment
• Ability to perform repetitious activities
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and stay organized
• Ability to lift/carry product up to 30 lbs
• Ability to move grocery carts requiring a force up to 35 lbs
• Strong attention to detail
• Proficiency with numbers
• Proficient in cash handling and mathematical skills
• Ability to read, write and count

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience
