Provide direct communication and administrative support between patients, clinical, and nursing staff in a primary care clinic. Responsibilities include managing calls, scheduling appointments, and handling general office duties while nurturing culturally appropriate interactions.
Responsibilities
- Receive and direct incoming phone calls with exceptional customer service
- Provide routine information to callers and take messages for appropriate staff members
- Greet patients/visitors, make necessary notifications, and facilitate contact with appropriate persons
- Ensure scheduled patients have a Primary Care Provider (PCP) and educate on the process if needed
- Assist customers by providing accurate information that meets their needs
- Maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards
- Work collaboratively within a team environment, building bridges and rapport
- Assist with referral follow-up and contacting patients for appointments
- Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS) for appointment scheduling
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Practical knowledge of CIH’s organization and services
- Knowledge of basic rules and regulations governing visitors and patient treatment
- Knowledge of HIPPA
- Practical knowledge of standard procedures and medical terminology
- Typing and basic computer skills
- Familiarity with computerized based appointment scheduling, referral and diagnostics scheduling packages in RPMS
- Good working knowledge of terms describing diseases, medical and surgical procedures, and standard abbreviations used by medical staff
- Thorough knowledge of recording and referral procedures
- Good communication skills
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required
- Minimum of two years’ experience working in a clerical, administrative or health related field is preferred.

- Completion of a medical terminology class
