This role involves working from plans to construct, assemble, fit, align, plumb, and set forms for molding concrete structures in heavy civil construction projects. The Carpenter will also check forms during concrete placement, direct stripping operations, and install various materials integral to concrete structures.
Responsibilities
- Work from plans to build, assemble, fit together, align, plumb, and set in place forms for molding concrete structures
- Check forms while concrete is being placed
- Direct others in stripping forms after concrete is placed
- Install miscellaneous materials integral to concrete structures
- Install precast concrete elements
- Prepare for slipforming traffic rail and median barrier
- Install permanent metal deck forms
- Work with power tools
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures
- Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
Requirements
- Ability to read plans
- Manual dexterity
- Heavy physical activity capability
Qualifications
- Less than a High School Diploma
