Perform direct and indirect patient care activities for cardiac medical/surgical and telemetry patients under the supervision of a registered nurse. This role focuses on providing high-quality patient care, assisting with daily needs, and maintaining a clean environment.
Responsibilities
- Observe and report all patient concerns/changes in condition to a registered nurse immediately
- Assist the Registered Nurse with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties
- Record vital signs, assist in personal hygiene, and other patient comfort measures
- Record oral intake and outputs (temperature, blood pressure and other monitoring)
- Assist in specimen collection and other activities for assigned patients
- Assist in indirect patient care by maintaining a clean and safe environment
- Report all necessary equipment repairs to appropriate personnel
- Prepare patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures
- Communicate with RN regarding any nutrition issues
- Answer patient call bells and relay messages to appropriate personnel
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
