Campus Retail Associate

About This Role

This Campus Retail Associate position provides superior customer service, supports store leaders in retail operations, and contributes to creating a positive retail and learning experience for college life at Kean University Bookstore.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments
• Provide a friendly atmosphere by greeting customers and focusing on their positive experience
• Take initiative to support store operations including operating equipment and cash register while ensuring speed of service and accurate transactions
• Keep the store looking fresh by shelving, arranging, cleaning, and organizing products or space within the store
• Work during peak periods (i.e. semester starts and ends), occasional weekends, and with flexibility in scheduling
• Perform routine housekeeping including dusting, mopping, window cleaning, vacuuming, trash removal

Requirements

• Minimum 18 years of age
• Confident and comfortable engaging customers to deliver an elevated experience
• Outstanding attitude with willingness to learn and capability to excel in a fast-paced, team environment
• Basic math, keyboarding, and data entry skills
• Flexible availability throughout the academic year including peak periods
