About This Role

The Campaign Director will lead the planning, management, and implementation of all capital and comprehensive campaign activities for Westfield State University. This role involves developing and executing a major gift prospect solicitation program, managing day-to-day campaign operations, and reporting on progress.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leadership to manage, update, and implement a strategic plan for the campaign.
  • Monitor the status of marketable gift opportunities and advise on progress towards goals.
  • Review University needs and prospect potential to inform solicitation strategies.
  • Monitor tables of gifts to ensure pipeline alignment and reassess strategy as needed.
  • Integrate news on campaign milestones into ongoing communications and marketing.
  • Oversee a robust pipeline of potential contributors and drive cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
  • Serve as a key representative in high-level campaign discussions and lead major campaign negotiations.
  • Enhance systems and procedures for identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding prospects.
  • Identify staff training needs and develop, implement, and evaluate training programs.
  • Develop a comprehensive national campaign volunteer organization with clearly defined roles and responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising and development
  • Leadership level experience with comprehensive capital/comprehensive campaigns
  • Highly developed collaboration, communications, interpersonal, managerial, motivational, and strategic thinking skills

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising and development, preferably in higher education, with leadership-level experience in comprehensive capital/comprehensive campaigns.
