Business Planning Project Manager – Consultant

About This Role

This consultant will drive the Specialty Food Association's organizational priorities by coordinating and tracking cross-departmental initiatives, streamlining the annual Business Planning process, and improving communication. The role focuses on establishing centralized project management systems to enhance visibility and ensure effective follow-through on strategic efforts.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage centralized tracking systems (Asana, SharePoint, Teams, Smartsheet) for cross-departmental initiatives and milestones
• Establish standardized project intake, prioritization, and reporting frameworks aligned with annual Business Planning and SFA Strategy work
• Coordinate initiative timelines, dependencies, and deliverables across departments (Membership, Trade Shows, Finance, Marketing, Technology, Talent & Culture)
• Create and manage annual calendar of projects/activities
• Develop and maintain dashboards and communication tools for leadership visibility (monthly initiative status reports)
• Support meeting facilitation, notes, and follow-up for Strategic Initiative and Business Planning workstreams
• Identify process improvement opportunities to increase alignment and efficiency across the organization
• Support document and presentations development to staff and board

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• 7-10 years of project Management Experience
• 5-7 years’ experience building out project plans specifically in Asana
• Demonstrated track record of Business Planning, Timeline Management
• Demonstrated track record of rolling out project plans via Asana and successful user adoption
• Superior interpersonal, relationship building skills and positive attitude
• Passion for the food industry and particularly the specialty of food industry, the standards that make food high-quality, delicious and sustainable

• 7-10 years of project Management Experience; 5-7 years’ experience building out project plans specifically in Asana
