Lead business development and sales efforts for heavy industrial construction services within the oil & gas and petrochemical industries. Secure new accounts, cultivate client relationships, and drive profitability and market penetration.
Responsibilities
- Lead and achieve maximum sales profitability, growth, and market penetration
- Contact and secure new business accounts and customers
- Promote, sell, and secure contracts from existing and prospective customers
- Demonstrate products and services to customers and assist them in selecting best-suited options
- Identify new prospects and convert new business using innovative approaches
- Conduct business development through sales calls and visits
- Provide customer support and resolve issues timely
- Cultivate lasting customer relationships and understand business needs to grow loyalty
- Analyze customer needs and develop proposals
- Implement overall sales strategy for the business
Requirements
- 10+ years’ sales experience with proven success in prior sales roles
- Proven experience in business development or sales within heavy industrial construction, EPC, or industrial services environments
- Demonstrated success selling construction or project-based services (NOT PRODUCTS)
- Strong understanding of oil & gas, petrochemical, power, LNG, or midstream industrial markets
- Experience selling mechanical, piping, electrical, civil, fabrication, maintenance, or capital project services
- Proven ability to develop long-term client relationships leading to repeat and negotiated work
- Working knowledge of the industrial construction lifecycle (pre-FEED/FEED, estimating, proposal development, project execution)
- Ability to collaborate closely with estimating, project management, operations, and executive leadership
- Strong understanding of construction risk, safety performance, labor availability, and execution capabilities
- Experience gaining contractor access to approved bidder lists, MSAs, alliance agreements, or preferred contractor programs
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration or relevant field/experience
- 10+ years’ sales experience with proven success in prior sales roles
