Business Development Lead - Engineering Services

About This Role

Lead business development for engineering services, focusing on driving new revenue channels within the space industry by securing contracts with commercial and governmental operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a robust business development pipeline for new and innovative Engineering Services customers
• Support at industry trade shows, conferences and other key industry events
• Lead the entire capture process for government and commercial opportunities
• Drive opportunities from identification to contract award
• Structure, negotiate, and execute service contracts, including terms, pricing, and performance metrics
• Coordinate seamlessly with Space Ocean's technical, finance, and legal teams to craft winning proposals and manage contract performance

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in selling Engineering Services specifically within the aerospace, defense, or space sector
• Proven track record of personally bringing in deals with US Government agencies (e.g., NASA, DoD), major aerospace companies, and/or boutique space entities
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain security clearance
• Strong grasp of the full proposal lifecycle (RFI/RFP analysis, color teams, submission) and contract management

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in selling Engineering Services specifically within the aerospace, defense, or space sector

Nice to Have

• Existing relationships within key decision makers within the space, aerospace and government contracting offices or the broader commercial space ecosystem
• Familiarity with contract management software and ERP applications, preferably Monday.com
