Building Grounds Maintenance Assistant

About This Role

This role is responsible for maintaining the outdoor areas of facilities to ensure a clean and safe environment for employees and visitors. The Assistant will perform regular maintenance tasks, operate groundskeeping equipment, and assist with snow removal and ice control.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance tasks such as mowing, weeding, and landscaping of outdoor areas
• Maintain and operate groundskeeping equipment including mowers, blowers, and hand tools
• Report maintenance issues and safety hazards to supervisors promptly
• Assist with snow removal and ice control efforts during the winter months
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines in all maintenance activities
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure the efficient operation of facility grounds
• Keep inventory of all grounds maintenance supplies and report when reorders are necessary

Requirements

• Ability to use groundskeeping tools and equipment safely and effectively
• Attention to detail with a strong work ethic
• Capable of working independently as well as collaborating with a team
• Physical ability to perform manual labor and work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Good verbal communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Some experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping is desirable
