Bookkeeper/Accounting Specialist

About This Role

Join GT Spirits Company, makers of Good Trouble Bourbon, as a Bookkeeper/Accounting Specialist to manage financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance in a mission-driven, premium spirits environment. This role will primarily work remotely with occasional visits to the downtown Chicago office.

Responsibilities

• Manage sales tax returns, accounts payable, payroll processing, and benefits administration
• Maintain and reconcile subsidiary accounts and the general ledger
• Perform bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
• Oversee accounts payable using Bill.com
• Develop and maintain the chart of accounts and systems for tracking financial transactions
• Keep meticulous historical records by organizing and filing all supporting documents
• Prepare clear, comprehensive financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account data and trends
• Collaborate with the finance team to meet deadlines and contribute to special projects

Requirements

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise and Bill.com management
• Strong understanding of cashflow management and cash management standards
• Ability to analyze point-of-sale (POS) data and extract actionable insights
• Excellent data entry and accounting reporting skills
• Exceptional attention to detail, confidentiality, and thoroughness
• Commitment to accuracy and dedication to excellence in financial processes

Qualifications

• College level coursework in accounting
