Control, operate, and maintain high-speed bag making production equipment in the Blanket Department. This role ensures safety, quality, and efficiency while performing troubleshooting, changeovers, and machine adjustments.
Responsibilities
- Control, operate, and maintain multiple pieces of high-speed bag making production equipment
- Safely and efficiently conduct changeovers and troubleshoot process and equipment problems
- Perform machine adjustments which directly affect quality, output, and scrap levels
- Perform required quality checks on finished products through specified and detailed quality control procedures each shift
- Process scrap materials using specified procedures
- Troubleshoot equipment and process failures and complete some minor mechanical repairs
- Perform routine and unique mechanical and maintenance tasks to remove debris/deposits from equipment and parts
- Enter quality and production data into computer systems
- Manually operate packaging equipment, including occasional hand stacking of cartons and cases of finished products onto pallets or staging platforms
- Maintain and update departmental equipment and production performance metrics and reports
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- One year manufacturing experience
- Ability to understand instructions, work procedures, reason and make judgments, problem solve, plan, coordinate, and direct own work
- Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, for up to 7 consecutive days
- Ability to communicate clearly and distinctly (oral and written) with peers and supervisors
- Ability to perform effectively under stressful conditions, prioritizing job duties while working with team members
- Ability to tolerate sustained standing/walking up to 10 hours a day, for up to 7 consecutive days
- Ability to perform occasional to frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications
