Serve as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children in foster care within Middlesex County. Provide critical information to help judges make decisions for abused or neglected children, ensuring they receive necessary support and find safe, permanent homes.
Responsibilities
- Spend time with the assigned child
- Communicate with courts, schools, healthcare providers, and social services
- Talk with people involved in the child’s life, such as teachers, doctors, family members, and caregivers
- Share recommendations with the family court to assist in decision-making regarding the child’s living situation, services, and education
- Ensure each child gets the needed help while in foster care
- Advocate for the child to find a safe, forever home as soon as possible
Requirements
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (comfortable communicating in both)
- At least 21 years old
- Willingness to complete background checks
- Commitment to working with assigned children for at least 18 months, ideally for the whole case

CASA of Middlesex County is seeking volunteers to help the many Middlesex County children who lack an advocate in their corner, providing training and support to equip them with the knowledge and tools needed to succeed in helping children in foster care.
