As a Bilingual Safety Manager, you will lead the development and implementation of safety policies and programs for a farming industry leader. This role involves ensuring compliance, promoting a proactive safety culture, and safeguarding employees and operations across multiple sites in Texas.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and programs to minimize workplace accidents and injuries
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Deliver safety training and education to employees, including new hire orientations, toolbox talks, and specialized sessions as required
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and establish corrective actions
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training activities, and compliance documentation
- Collaborate with department managers to address safety concerns and implement effective solutions across operations
- Keep current on regulatory requirements, codes, and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and improvement
- Coordinate with external agencies such as OSHA to facilitate inspections and resolve any compliance issues
- Participate actively in safety committees and meetings to drive performance, initiatives, and achieve organizational safety goals
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability throughout all levels of the organization
Requirements
- Proven experience in occupational health and safety, ideally within a manufacturing, construction, industrial, or farming environment
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively train and influence employees at all organizational levels
- Analytical skills to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement effective controls
- Strong organizational and documentation capabilities with keen attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software applications for documentation and records management
- Bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish)
Qualifications
- Proven experience in occupational health and safety, ideally within a manufacturing, construction, industrial, or farming environment
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., CSP, OHST, CHST)
- Experience in developing and leading safety committees
- Background in regulatory compliance with agriculture or farming-specific safety requirements
- Familiarity with incident investigation software or learning management systems (LMS) for training delivery
- Strong initiative and willingness to participate in continuous professional development and industry best practices
