This role serves as the initial contact for visitors and callers, providing a professional presence, supporting daily parish operations, and connecting individuals with appropriate ministries and staff.
Responsibilities
- Greet visitors and vendors, respond to information requests, and direct traffic to appropriate staff
- Answer, screen, and direct phone calls
- Maintain the mass intentions book for the present and following year
- Create flower donation 'In Honor of/Memorial' lists
- Perform basic data entry, including contact information, registrations, and updates within the parish database
- Receive and distribute incoming mail and deliveries, notifying appropriate staff
- Assist with copying, scanning, filing, and basic document preparation (letters, forms, sign sheets)
- Provide general information regarding Mass times, office hours, sacrament details, and event information
Requirements
- Practicing Catholic, with respect for and understanding of the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both in person and by phone
- Basic computer proficiency, including email and word processing
- Ability to multitask calmly and efficiently in a busy environment
- Reliable and punctual, able to work Monday – Friday, 8:00 am -5:00 pm
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish (read/write/speak)
- Compliant with the Diocese of Austin: Ethics and Integrity in Ministry policies
