About This Role

The Banquet Manager assists Banquet leadership in overseeing daily operations and staff, ensuring high standards for service, food, and beverage experiences. This role involves executing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and leading pre-shift meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Properly and efficiently execute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
  • Participate and lead daily pre-shift meetings to discuss shift-related issues and provide staff with necessary information
  • Lead by example through actions, words, and behaviors that influence others to act and respond in appropriate, positive, and thoughtful ways towards Clients/Guests and fellow staff members
  • Ensure that Banquet storage facilities, uniforms, and other Banquet areas are maintained, organized, and hygienic
  • Anticipate and address guest’s service needs as they arise and resolve all matters where expectations are not met
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of all policies, procedures, and quality standards within the department
  • Assist with annual budgeting process and monthly financial statements
  • Become acquainted with existing regular patrons and develop relationships with new guests

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Banquet Manager in a luxury hotel / catering / events setting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or equivalent including payroll and scheduling
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English, verbally and in writing
  • Open availability including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Experience managing non-union and NYC Hotel union staff
  • Proactive leader who takes initiative and is focused on continuous improvement
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Passion for working with people, creating amazing experiences, and leading with a hospitality mindset
  • Eager to be a part of a fast-paced and dynamic work environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
  • 3+ years of experience as a Banquet Manager in a luxury hotel, catering, or events setting

Nice to Have

  • Spanish considered a plus
