Awake Overnight Direct Support Staff - Developmental Services

About This Role

Ensure the health and safety of individuals in developmental services during overnight shifts, providing assistance, supporting morning routines, and maintaining a safe living environment.

Responsibilities

• Remain alert and respond to the needs of individuals during the night
• Assist individuals with morning activities, including choosing weather-appropriate clothing and preparing meals
• Lift and transfer individuals as needed
• Provide a safe living environment by complying with agency policies and safety standards
• Train individuals in responding to nighttime fire drills and conduct regular drills for safe evacuation
• Provide transportation of individuals to day programs as needed
• Assist individuals with home maintenance and perform assigned cleaning duties
• Implement established treatment programs
• Report significant health, psychiatric, or behavioral issues to the on-call person
• Prepare summaries of interactions and objective behavioral observations at the end of each shift, including clinical notes and data collection

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent degree
• Excellent interpersonal, judgement and coaching skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to utilize basic computer applications
• Valid driver's license
• Access to an operational and insured vehicle
• Willingness to use personal vehicle to transport clients

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• Experience working with the population preferred
