Generate and expand the bank's deposit relationships by meeting or exceeding sales goals with small businesses. Consult with customers and prospects to identify financial needs and promote appropriate banking products.
Responsibilities
- Perform direct calling on prospective new clients via phone, in person, mail, and email to generate deposits and fee income through alternative bank products and services, including pre-screening loan requests.
- Meet established sales goals including total deposits, number of new relationships, and products per relationship.
- Work with various partners to ensure clients have the right products to meet their needs and refer clients to other Bank areas for additional services.
- Conduct joint outside sales calls with branch associates at prospect's or client's places of business.
- Develop internal and external referral sources through centers of influence, participation in bank events, community activities, seminars, and asking for referrals from new clients.
- Maintain at least bi-annual contact with deposit customers to ensure satisfaction, identify changes in business, and ask for added business via referrals.
- Promote a favorable image of the bank in all business activities within the community.
- Work closely with team members to facilitate client onboarding and introduce team members to clients.
- Log and maintain all call and sales activity in Salesforce on a weekly basis.
- Comply with policies, procedures, security requirements, and government laws/regulations.
Requirements
- Proven ability to understand and implement a calling plan that meets business development expectations
- Analytical skills and reasonable experience level to make credit decisions
- Ability to manage multiple duties efficiently with high commitment to job quality and client satisfaction
- Excellent presentation, communication, and customer service skills
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude and ability to work well with others
- Good phone voice with professional and well-groomed appearance
- Ability to interview customers and understand requests
- Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks, and work independently
- Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented with high accuracy in completing forms and handling transactions
- 3-5 years outside sales experience
