This role involves building and custom outfitting police, fire, and emergency response vehicles with essential equipment. The technician will perform custom installations, wire and test electronic components, and troubleshoot systems to ensure public safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform custom installations of emergency lighting, sirens, radios, partitions, and other vehicle components.
- Wire and test electronic components to ensure proper function and safety.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and systems as needed.
- Follow established procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Document work performed, including parts used and time spent.
- Collaborate with other technicians and team members to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and care for all tools and equipment.
- Stay updated with the latest vehicle upfitting technology and best practices.
Requirements
- Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, wiring, and diagnostic procedures
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- Strong attention to detail, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school preferred.

- Previous experience with vehicle upfitting, automotive electronics, or a similar field
