This role involves diagnosing and troubleshooting emission-related malfunctions in vehicles as part of a new Motorist Assistant Center initiative. The Diagnostician will educate customers, compile vehicle repair information, and contribute to making the world cleaner and safer through innovative technology.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate vehicles to diagnose and troubleshoot emission-related malfunctions
- Compile vehicle information needed for motorists and repair facilities to ensure proper vehicle repairs
- Record vehicle test and diagnostic results, including OBD tests, MIL status, diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), and readiness status
- Visually inspect vehicles presented for repair waivers to determine whether repair work has been completed
- Perform PM and repair of instruments and equipment as needed
Requirements
- ASE-certified Master Diagnosticians
- Knowledge of digital and analog electronics
- Familiarity with test equipment, including digital multimeters
- Advanced understanding of the principles of electromechanical operation
- A working understanding of pneumatics
