AutoCAD Survey Technician

About This Role

This role supports field and operations teams by transforming collected field data into accurate, high-quality survey drawings and deliverables for construction projects. The AutoCAD Survey Technician will process field and drone data, calculate survey points, and produce detailed drawings and survey documents, ensuring projects start with reliable, accurate survey data.

Responsibilities

• Process survey field data, drone data, and GPS point files to create accurate maps, surfaces, and drawings
• Calculate survey points, alignments, and layouts based on project requirements
• Develop topographic surveys, boundary surveys, site maps, and construction layouts using AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Import, clean, and organize point clouds, photogrammetry data, and digital terrain models
• Generate surfaces, contours, cut/fill maps, and other construction-related deliverables
• Coordinate with survey crews to clarify field notes, resolve data gaps, and ensure accuracy
• Support field and operations teams with layout files, drawing revisions, and digital models
• Maintain organized file structures, layer standards, and CAD templates per company practices
• Perform QA/QC reviews to ensure drawings meet project and company standards
• Assist with survey reports, exhibits, as-builts, and project documentation
• Stay current on AutoCAD and Civil 3D features and best practices

Requirements

• Attention to detail and drafting accuracy
• Ability to interpret field notes, plans, and survey data
• Working knowledge of surveying principles, coordinate systems, and construction layout
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills related to data inconsistencies or missing information
