This role involves providing live sound reinforcement for Sofar Sounds' intimate shows, working closely with crew and artists to ensure exceptional audio quality in unique venues. The Audio Engineer is responsible for setting up, breaking down, and transporting their own audio equipment.
Responsibilities
- Provide live sound reinforcement for Sofar shows
- Work with the crew team and artists to prep and execute each show
- Reference the concert portal to ensure appropriate gear for each unique artist setup
- Transport own audio gear to and from venues
- Set up and load-in audio equipment at the beginning of shows
- Break down and load out audio equipment at the end of shows
- Maintain safe and appropriate audio levels for the venue and audience size
- Consult on audio requirements for venues, partnerships, and special shows
Requirements
- Experience with DIY audio setups, ideally at 50+ cap shows
- Own audio gear and ability to arrange transportation to and from shows
- Passion for live sound and creative problem solving in unique venues
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot effectively, especially in high-pressure situations
- Ability to move up to 75 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation
Qualifications
- Experience with DIY audio setups, ideally at 50+ cap shows
