This Construction Attorney role will manage a high volume of litigation matters specific to construction, including drafting legal documents, conducting discovery, and making court appearances. The attorney will also be responsible for maintaining and growing client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage cases involving construction matters statewide
- Conduct and defend fact and expert depositions
- Draft and argue dispositive motions and appear at related hearings
- Perform site inspections and attend in-person depositions as required
- Prepare litigation strategy, evaluate exposure, and advise clients on case direction
- Manage a high volume of files while ensuring compliance with court rules, deadlines, and procedural requirements
- Maintain and grow client relationships, including managing an established and expanding book of business
- Utilize internal and external resources to address complex legal and factual issues
- Provide direct guidance or task coordination to Paralegals, legal assistants, clerical staff, or interns
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar
- Minimum of 3 years current experience working in a Trial Law Firm
- Experience taking and defending expert depositions
- Background & knowledge specializing in the construction practice area
- Proficient writing and oral advocacy skills
- Superior legal research & analytical abilities
- Skilled working knowledge of federal and state civil procedure
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Minimum of 3 years current experience working in a Trial Law Firm
