Join Chewy Vet Care as an Associate Veterinarian to provide comprehensive, patient-centric care in a new, technologically advanced practice. This role focuses on delivering high-quality medical, surgical, and dental procedures while educating pet parents and maintaining accurate records to ensure the best outcomes for pets.
Responsibilities
- Empower the team to deliver an unparalleled client experience
- Develop a rapport with clients and resolve their needs and wishes
- Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures to deliver quality care minimizing stress and discomfort of patients
- Perform basic surgery
- Explain physical examination findings and communicate a diagnosis of the pet’s condition
- Generate and present a treatment plan for the pet to the client
- Educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products
- Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and ensure all logs are kept up to date
- Stay current with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine, attend continuing education meetings
- Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure the delivery of the highest quality care
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM, VMD)
- Active State license in good standing
- DEA license and other state credentials as required
- 2-3 years’ experience in general medicine and surgery; residency or internship trained
- Outstanding listening and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable collaborating with other veterinary professionals in a team-oriented environment
- Passionate about helping people and pets with compassion and excellent customer service focus
- Ability to multi-task and perform well in a fast-paced, self-starter environment
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM, VMD)
- 2-3 years’ experience in general medicine and surgery; residency or internship trained
Nice to Have
- 2 years of supervised experience with veterinary radiation machines
