This role involves expanding treatment possibilities for patients with serious diseases by applying advanced mass spectrometry to characterize proteomic and metabolomic changes, identifying protein-based biomarkers, and contributing to the understanding of drug effects.
Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and implement advanced mass spectrometry workflows (DDA and DIA) to screen for and identify protein-based biomarkers associated with therapeutic activity
- Design and execute quantitative mass spectrometry experiments to measure low-abundance proteins in complex biological matrices (plasma, tissues, CSF)
- Design and conduct experiments to identify and characterize changes in the proteome or metabolome following inhibitor or therapeutic treatment of relevant biological samples
- Apply bioinformatics and data analysis tools to interpret complex datasets and identify relevant proteins, metabolites, and potential biomarkers
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of high-quality data aligned with project objectives
- Prepare and present research findings at internal meetings and external scientific conferences and contribute to the preparation of manuscripts and scientific publications
- Stay current with emerging advances in mass spectrometry technologies and methodologies, particularly as applied to proteomics, metabolomics, and biomarker discovery in drug research
Requirements
- PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline with strong emphasis on mass spectrometry–based proteomics, metabolomics, and protein quantification
- 10+ years of hands-on industry experience applying advanced mass spectrometry techniques in proteomics and protein quantification
- Demonstrated experience with LC–MS system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of cellular biology and the impact of protein inhibition on proteomic and metabolic pathways
- Proven ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate complex scientific data effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in scientific documentation and publication
- Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
- Commitment to strict adherence to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) guidelines
Qualifications
- PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline
