Associate Knits Designer

About This Role

This role involves designing and developing innovative knitwear for an iconic heritage brand, focusing on women's knitwear. The designer will use creativity and technical expertise to bring timeless American style to life, collaborating closely with the Design Director.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Design Director on seasonal line development for sweaters, cut & sew knits, pullovers, cardigans, knit tops, and layering pieces
• Create detailed tech packs for development samples, including sketches, stitch layouts, construction details, and yarn callouts
• Use CAD skills to develop accurate, detailed design renderings, stitch layouts, colorways, and garment illustrations
• Participate in fittings and work with Technical Design to refine garments based on fit and aesthetic
• Maintain strong organization, manage timelines, and adapt to shifting priorities
• Work with Product Development and Production to manage sample reviews, revisions, and approvals
• Oversee product approval milestones, ensuring accuracy and consistency with brand standards

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field
• 3-4 years of experience as a Knitwear Designer
• Exceptional CAD and sketching skills
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience creating detailed tech packs
• Experience working within PLM systems
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field
• 3-4 years of experience as a Knitwear Designer
