This full-time Associate Gift Officer manages a portfolio of major gift prospects, serves as a liaison for the Foundation's board members, and supports frontline fundraisers in advancing the institution's mission through donor engagement and fundraising strategies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement cultivation and solicitation strategies for prospective donors
- Steward existing donors, ensuring continued engagement and support
- Balance time and resources to maximize donor relationships and gift outcomes
- Contribute to Brooklyn College's capital campaign by raising campaign gifts and drafting materials
- Assist with events involving leadership staff
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Board of Trustees members and liaise with Trustees
- Work in partnership with the Executive Office to assist with Board meeting logistics
- Prepare donor-related materials, including proposals, gift agreements, acknowledgments, and stewardship reports
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date donors and prospect records in Raiser’s Edge
- Assist leadership gifts team members with special projects
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2-3 years of experience in fundraising
- Exceptional writing, organizational, interpersonal, and research skills
- Sound judgment, professionalism, and ability to engage with diverse donors and senior staff
- Strong project management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Proficiency in donor database systems such as Raiser’s Edge
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2–3 years of experience in fundraising, preferably in higher education
