Associate Gift Officer

About This Role

This full-time Associate Gift Officer manages a portfolio of major gift prospects, serves as a liaison for the Foundation's board members, and supports frontline fundraisers in advancing the institution's mission through donor engagement and fundraising strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement cultivation and solicitation strategies for prospective donors
• Steward existing donors, ensuring continued engagement and support
• Balance time and resources to maximize donor relationships and gift outcomes
• Contribute to Brooklyn College's capital campaign by raising campaign gifts and drafting materials
• Assist with events involving leadership staff
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Board of Trustees members and liaise with Trustees
• Work in partnership with the Executive Office to assist with Board meeting logistics
• Prepare donor-related materials, including proposals, gift agreements, acknowledgments, and stewardship reports
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date donors and prospect records in Raiser’s Edge
• Assist leadership gifts team members with special projects

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• 2-3 years of experience in fundraising
• Exceptional writing, organizational, interpersonal, and research skills
• Sound judgment, professionalism, and ability to engage with diverse donors and senior staff
• Strong project management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Proficiency in donor database systems such as Raiser’s Edge

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 2–3 years of experience in fundraising, preferably in higher education
