This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining tax planning strategies across Regeneron's business and supply chain. The Associate Director will optimize tax positions, lead supply chain tax aspects, and provide end-to-end tax support for business development deals.
Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and implement tax planning opportunities in support of Regeneron's expanding business and supply chain
- Lead tax aspects of supply chain planning, including optimization of clinical and commercial supply chains, external manufacturing, and distribution models
- Research, review, and draft documentation involving complex tax issues and strategies, including tax technical memoranda, operating manuals, and governance policies
- Support tax-efficient international operations and expansion, including optimization of local tax planning and tax incentives
- Provide end-to-end tax support to Business Development on third-party deals, including diligence, optimal deal structures, and implementation
- Collaborate closely, both internally and externally, with advisors and subject matter experts to ensure tax strategies are properly documented
- Monitor U.S. and foreign tax proposals, including OECD BEPS/Pillar Two, to determine financial and operational impacts
- Establish strong relationships, demonstrate organizational and interpersonal skills to build a collaborative environment, and educate the business on tax considerations
- Foster a culture of excellence, integrity, and accountability for a growing team
- Interface and interact effectively with personnel at all levels of Regeneron's organization
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in tax planning and strategy
- Experience in a corporate environment in addition to law firm and/or accounting firm experience
- J.D., CPA, or equivalent
- Mastery of US tax rules, in particular US international tax rules, mergers and acquisitions
- Exposure to international supply chain structures, global complexity and foreign tax rules including OECD BEPS and other proposals
- Ability to research and interpret complex US and non-US tax rules
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with MS Office, in particular, PowerPoint and Excel
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with a J.D., CPA or equivalent
- 10+ years of experience in tax planning and strategy, including corporate, law firm and/or accounting firm experience
